Informed by the act of looking, Jonathan’s art practice largely comprises of works in video, photography, installation, print and drawing.

Interested in looking beyond what we look for when we look; breaking down the process by which we see things, and shining a light on the things that remain unseen; Jonathan’s work has always been contingent upon, and deeply linked to his surroundings, and he is continuously referencing the landscape, history and environment
around him.

Beyond this, the work attempts to explore the relationship and disconnections between the material and natural world outside of us with the unknowable and fictional worlds within and between us.

Jonathan studied at Nottingham Trent University and subsequently an MFA in Fine Art Media at Slade School of Fine Art, London. He was artist in residence at HKBU, Hong Kong, in 2016 and he has been awarded the Porthmeor Graduate Workspace supported by the European Regional Development Fund, via Cultivator, 2018-19.

Jonathan is featured in issue 16 of the Floorr Magazine, an online art journal spotlighting contemporary artists at all stages of their careers.
